Pretty things: “Artistic Luxury: Fabergé, Tiffany, Lalique” at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, CA beginning February 7.
Peter Carl Fabergé (eggs), Louis Comfort Tiffany (lamps), and René Lalique (crystal) were rivals in the creation of decorative arts in the years before World War I. Some of their most extravagant, luxury pieces, last shown together at the 1900 International Exposition in Paris, will be presented.
