The August Wilson Saga * March 2008
I knew someone somewhere would pick up on the obvious - presenting all 10 of playwright August Wilson’s plays in order - not when written, but when the events of the plays take place.
Beginning with 1900, and covering 10 decades, all will be presented at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, Washington, D.C. under the guidance Atlanta-based director Kenny Leon.
The saga starts on March 4, 2008 with “Gem of the Ocean” and ends with “Radio Golf” on March 29, 2008. Each play will be presented for 3 or 4 days, and then on to the next, with a stable of actors who will perform in a “staged reading” format - full play (but, lots to memorize).
*If you look at the Kennedy Ctr. “calendar of events” for March 2008 and are flexible, you can manage to see 3 plays on 1 weekend - spread between matinee and evening performances. Tickets go on sale 12/13/07
